Sian Waters

Siân Waters is a practising biosocial conservationist specialising in the human dimension of primate conservation. Sian has worked both in and ex situ with primates during her career and is the founder and director of Barbary Macaque Awareness and Conservation, an inclusive community conservation project in Morocco. Particular interests are human-primate relations, human-primate conflict and  coexistence the illegal primate trade and environmental justice. Sian’s role as SHPI vice chair is supported by Ouwehands Zoo Foundation, Ouwehands Dierenpark, The Netherlands.
